Can my significant other use my credit card and charge a huge debt and not be liable because it'

Yes, thats why I monitor my account online weekly and activated email alert from the credit card company on any charge over $90 dollars.

yes: unless you report it stolen and have him/her put in jail

NEVER NEVER NEVER let any body use you card.

Do you ever watch Judge Judy??? So many cases come before her for just this reason. Do NOT let anyone use your card. If they have bad credit it%26#039;s a red flag for you. Chances are you will get stuck with the bill.

Jimmie is correct -- you would have to report the card as stolen and then press charges against your significant other. I would also be curious to know whether he had your permission to use the card. If not, I%26#039;d press charges and dump the jerk!

Yes. If you give your card to someone to fill up your gas tank and they buy a $5000 watch, you will be liable.

Since you live with this person or they probably have used your card many times before that would probably be considered you giving permission to use the card.

You might have civil case against them.

If you did not give permission, then the credit card company will most likely require a police report. That way they can make sure you are telling the truth, ie you are at risk if you lie on a police report, and they can require restitiuton through the court system against the user.

If you do not protect your card and credit then pay th price.

If it took the card without permission then report it and file charges.

A thief is a thief.
