Ive paid off all my old debt, i use 1 credit card in moderation, what else can i do to lift my credi

You know what made mine high? Leasing a car. I didn%26#039;t realize how much impact that would have. Paying an installment loan on a car or a lease will help, but only do that if its feasible for you.

I am not a credit specialist or anything. Your best bet is to ask a banker or investment counselor. It was just strange that although many people I know have more money than me, I had a higher credit rating, and the only thing we could attribute it to was having a couple of leased cars and always paying early. Make all your payments the day the bill comes, and pay online to eliminate delays in getting it posted. Also, if you have a mortgage, pay one extra payment a year, or get your payments scheduled for every two weeks and you will pay your mortgage off faster.

Never let your credit card balance be over 50% of your available credit either. If you have paid it off, keep using it on occasion to show your credit worthiness. Also, about once every six months, call the card company and ask for a lower rate. Keep the same card instead of opening new ones. Every time your credit report is checked by a department store or new credit card company, you lose points.

Pay all bills on time. If your credit score was really low, it%26#039;s going to take time to build it back up. Patience.

Paying on time helps, but there is much more required for a good score. One thing they consider in coming up with your score is,debt to credit ratio.Thats your available credit amount vs. how much you use up.Alittle known secret is called piggybacking. This is where someone who has long established credit card history can request your name be added to their card, their credit history will show up on your credit report .

good for you continue to pay on time and keep you credit limit low on revolving accounts even if there is a low or zero balance. and go to equifax learn .com they have some really good advice... remember that any negative info will stay with you for seven yrs good luck with that.

pay all your bills on time ALL THE TIME. never ever miss a payment even if it means you dont eat. seriously you do not want missed payments on your credit report. good credit is not built in one day it takes years to establish a good name to creditors. another thing is you said that you have a credit card?? do not use more that 20% of you initial credit limit. that can lower your score if your using to much. and just stick with that one credit card for now until you have established yourself where you want to be. getting new lines of credit is a bad idea as well it shows your creditors that you may be look more more money because you are having a hard time paying your other monthly obligations.

Easy stuff...

NEVER have more than 25%of the total available limit on any card used. It is better to have 4 cards at 25% tfull than one card at 100%

Close out cards (not all) that you do not use.. do this one card a month. If you close out to many to fast you will drop your score.

Keep 2-3 cards that have the longest and best history on them. If you have a card with bad history close it out. Remember length of credit is important too.

You will need at least 24 months of consistent, on time payment history to see your score improve. The longer the history, the better the score.
