When relocating to another country,do you have to pay out existing credit card debts?

Well....lets keep in mind that your credit does NOT follow you to another country. H.A. doesn%26#039;t know what he is talking about.

Will they try to come after you for the debt? Only if it%26#039;s for a lot of money.

When you leave the country, your debt will be placed on hold. When you come back, they can come after you for it. You do not have protection from the Statute of Limitations as that timeline freezes when you leave the state.

When relocating to another country,do you have to pay out existing credit card debts?

YES.

When relocating to another country,do you have to pay out existing credit card debts?

no

When relocating to another country,do you have to pay out existing credit card debts?

Of course. Do you plan to never return after relocating?

When relocating to another country,do you have to pay out existing credit card debts?

Yes, in order to protect your credit you do as credit follows you every where and you must consider that you may come back. It is always best to pay your bills.

When relocating to another country,do you have to pay out existing credit card debts?

Why would you think you wouldn%26#039;t have to pay your credit card debts? You made the charges; you owe the money.

When relocating to another country,do you have to pay out existing credit card debts?

Yes! Why would you think otherwise? If you use a credit card, you%26#039;re responsible for repayment, no matter where you live.

When relocating to another country,do you have to pay out existing credit card debts?

I will not answer that question because you should pay your debts unless you really cannot afford to do so, but I will tell you:

Credit reporting agencies such as Equifax, TransUnion, Northern Credit Bureaus and Equifax, and others only collect information from creditors about consumers閳?financial experiences in a particular country and is separate from other countries credit reporting agencies and vice versa.

There are many reasons why credit reports do not transfer from one country to the next. The main reason behind this is because of differences in national laws. Every country, and the European Union, has its own laws governing credit reporting and information use. In addition to legal barriers, there are significant contractual complications around how businesses in other countries would access reports, report and update information and respond to consumer disputes. There also are a number of technical issues around how information is collected, stored and shared that further complicates transferring your credit report.

When relocating to another country,do you have to pay out existing credit card debts?

I think everyone is misreading the question. Are you considering moving to another country, and wondering if all credit cards need to be paid off prior to the move?

I'd like to borrow about 15K to pay off all my credit cards debt, can u show me where is cheapea

as if i add to morgage they took 25 years to pay back!so i would just like a loan that could pay off in 10 years time or less... thanks alot for ur help.

I%26#039;d like to borrow about 15K to pay off all my credit cards debt, can u show me where is cheapeast and safe?

www.moneysupermarket.com is an excellent comparison site.

Northern Rock are currently advertising an unsecured loan for 5.9%APR which would work out at about 鎷?70/ month over 10 years. Alliance %26amp; Leicester are also offering a low rate at the moment.

Once you do have the consolidation loan you must, must cut up your credit cards! The danger is always there that you could start to use them again here and there and before you know it you%26#039;ve got a 15k loan AND 15k on your credit cards.

Good luck (and you%26#039;re not stupid, hundreds of thousands of us are in the same boat!)

I%26#039;d like to borrow about 15K to pay off all my credit cards debt, can u show me where is cheapeast and safe?

You may be able to add it to your mortgage but still have it over the 10 years keeping your current amount on the same term it currently is. Depends on lender though.

I%26#039;d like to borrow about 15K to pay off all my credit cards debt, can u show me where is cheapeast and safe?

That other guy is right,. You do not borrow money from one source, to pay off money you borrowed from another source. It%26#039;s idiotic.

Face facts, admit it. You are in big trouble. Cut up those credit cards, become an adult and pay off the debt. Only a fool buys things they can%26#039;t afford. Take responsibility for your own actions.

I%26#039;d like to borrow about 15K to pay off all my credit cards debt, can u show me where is cheapeast and safe?

Borrowing money to pay off money, eh? Yeah, great idea - that%26#039;ll do your (already smashed to pieces) credit rating no good at all.

If in the UK, try Northern Rock - they are competitive at the moment. Www.uswitch.com - this website shows you the best of everything - loan companies, credit cards, gas suppliers, etc etc.

Is it wise to apply for a personal loan to pay off credit card debts?

Make sure the costs of getting the loan and the interest rate is alot lower than the average interest rate of all your credit card debt.

If it is, then yes.

Is it wise to apply for a personal loan to pay off credit card debts?

as long as the new %26quot;loan%26quot; has a lower interest rate. it is also smart to consolidate for the pure reason of simplicity loan officers sell u on the low payment bla bla.. but the tru benefit is just making 1 payment and forget about it. i quoted loan because it is not necessarily a line of credit, a credit card with a lower interest rate will do the trick.

what this means is get a cheaper loan to repay the other ones. and if thats the case then yeah it works

Is it wise to apply for a personal loan to pay off credit card debts?

Depends on the contract of the personal loan.

Usually, robbing Peter to pay Paul is not a wise option.

Also if your credit card debt is charged off, then why take a loan out to pay it off? Your credit is ruined already and you can pay a settlement instead.

Remember, a personal loan usually is higher interest and mathematically, may not be beneficial when you factor in interest.

Is it wise to apply for a personal loan to pay off credit card debts?

Like everyone else said, depends on the rates. Also make sure to get rid of the credit cards if you do this. You dont want to run them up again and play that game!

Is it wise to apply for a personal loan to pay off credit card debts?

Most likely the rate is going to be lower. Keep the term as short as you can. It should be a good idea. Maybe a home equity loan and you can deduct the interest. But that trades unsecured debt for secured debt and puts your home at risk. Only do that if you can afford the payments and you have the discipline to pay it and not to run up more debt.

Is it wise to apply for a personal loan to pay off credit card debts?

Bad credit debt consolidation loans are quite popular with those with poor credit history. If your loan application is rejected by a lender, bad credit debt consolidation loans are there to help. If you want to repair your credit history by repaying a loan, which has simple terms and low monthly installments, again bad credit debt consolidation loans are for you. They save you after rejection and help you regain your financial credibility, so that you can again enter the mainstream credit market.

Bad credit debt consolidation loans are of two types:

1. Secured bad credit debt consolidation loans:

These types of bad credit debt consolidation loans are secured by a collateral usually some property or a guarantor. Since, the lenders find something to bank upon in case you default on payments, the interest rates on secured bad credit debt consolidation loans are cheaper, the lending amounts are higher and the repayment period can be long.

2. Unsecured bad credit debt consolidation loans:

Persons who do not have anything to offer as the collateral or security, can take unsecured bad credit debt consolidation loans. The lenders find themselves at increasing level of risk while giving such loans. The existing bad credit situation and lack of a collateral, make them charge high interest rates and offer low loan amounts to offset the risk involved. But, a person who has a bad credit and cannot provide a collateral has little choice, but to take these high interest loans. At least by repaying these the borrower can rebuild his credit history. You will want to check the terms of the loan. Many time you can get credit cards that offer great initial rates, like 0% for 12-15 months, and then move the debt to this card.

Also, if you do get a personal loan, make sure it is FIXED and not variable.. This one will get you often..

For a good souce of credit and loan offers, you may want to check out http://preferred.ecreditdirectory.com/ ... They have balance transfer offers up to 0% for 15 months!

Why when buying a house realtors/ want u to pay off old credit card debts when legally u dont owe?

statutes of lim have run... already? whats the point?

Why when buying a house realtors/ want u to pay off old credit card debts when legally u dont owe?

It is none of their business. A Realtor only wants the buy or sell of a house to go through without problems. All they want is THE MONEY.

When seeking a loan for a new house, discuss these details with your lender. Don%26#039;t ask for stupid advice from a Realtor.

Why when buying a house realtors/ want u to pay off old credit card debts when legally u dont owe?

ITs not about the fact of whether or not it is bad credit or not. You already have a glitch that makes it bad credit, but in a lot of areas: especially home mortgaging, your credit is based on a credit score. That score goes up or down dependent on HOW BAD your credit is.

If a credit card is on your report, no matter whether or not there is a statute of limitations, your credit score will go up if it is showing a zero balance instead of a balance still on there.

I don%26#039;t believe there is such a thing as %26quot;statute of limitations%26quot;, when it comes to credit reports. I think only when it comes to court and garnishing you for payment.

A bad debt will stay on your credit report for 7 to 10 years. (depending on when they actually sent the bad debt to the crediting angency). That 7 years does not start from the month you defaulted, it starts from the month they reported the default. So if you were trying to be contacted for a long time and wouldn%26#039;t answer the phone calls, you may have not been reported yet.

Your interest rate on a home loan will probably be better if you pay the credit debt.

Why when buying a house realtors/ want u to pay off old credit card debts when legally u dont owe?

The better your credit is, the easier it is for the realtor to get you approved.

If you have debt that is old enough to not be enforceable you should contact the reporting companies and have the debt report removed.

If the debt isn%26#039;t old enough to be removed you probably still have an obligation to pay the outstanding balance.

Your credit report is used by many companies to determine your cost for insurance, health care, rent, as well as home purchasing. Cleaning your report will save you many thousands of dollars.

Why when buying a house realtors/ want u to pay off old credit card debts when legally u dont owe?

it%26#039;s really up to the bank or lender

you may have to pay them in order to get your mortgage

Why when buying a house realtors/ want u to pay off old credit card debts when legally u dont owe?

Most lenders will require that you pay ALL old debts. You will even have to pay any old tax liabilities (by law). This has nothing to do with the realtor. If the lender won%26#039;t give you the money you are out of luck. In addition, you need to be current on your bills. That means you pay them when due or a little bit early. That does not mean you pay them before the late fee is charged. You did this to yourself by your past way of handling money. Stop blaming others and do the hard work of climbing out of that hole. One year of doing the right thing should make you eligible to get a loan. At first you may not get favorable interest rates. After a couple of years more you can get very good rates again. Then don%26#039;t ever let this happen again. I own a real estate company and I deal with this situation all the time.

My bank account has been frozen because of some debt I owe to a credit card. I have to appear in cou

Its only a couple of thousand that I owe. Has anyone had to go to court for this amount of money owed to a credit card? What%26#039;s going to happen at the hearing? What are they gojng say to me? What type of questions will I have to answer? I know its not a murder trial but I want to be somewhat prepared.

My bank account has been frozen because of some debt I owe to a credit card. I have to appear in court.?

they will put a judgement against you and garnish your wages

My bank account has been frozen because of some debt I owe to a credit card. I have to appear in court.?

ahh u should not have accepted that letter stating for you to appear in court...how about calling the company and offering to pay them before they take u? because after this they will garnish your wages and keep your money....check the statute of limitations and if its quite a bit, i suggest getting a lawyer...

My bank account has been frozen because of some debt I owe to a credit card. I have to appear in court.?

My husband just went thru this last year with cap. one. To the best of my knowledge you don%26#039;t even have to show up at the hearing, my husband didn%26#039;t. After the hearing they will send you paper work and try to get you to pay in monthly payments. Some want the whole amount all at once. My husband still continued to ignore them, then about 6 months after the court date, they took the whole 2000 right out of our account without even notifying us first. So whatever you do, if you chose not to go to court, make sure you start to make an attempt to pay the money back, because they will get it one way or the other, and they stop being nice.

My bank account has been frozen because of some debt I owe to a credit card. I have to appear in court.?

You need someone on your side.

Go to this web search: http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=na...

And contact a Consumer Credit Counselor before you go to court, if not then you could be in a very bad position.

Your best line of action is to contact a Consumer Credit Counselor and have them negotiate with the Credit Card company BEFORE you go to court. The Credit Card Company only wants its money, they don%26#039;t want to pay the lawyers to sue you or the court costs involved and they don%26#039;t want to pay loan collectors to hound you for the money. If you use a Debt Counselor and deal directly with the company then you might only have to pay them 50-75 cents on the dollar and you have a better chance of coming up with a payment plan that you can live with.

It is a well-known axiom that when you go to court the only winners are the lawyers.

My bank account has been frozen because of some debt I owe to a credit card. I have to appear in court.?

I believe, that if you show at least some attempt to pay off the debt, even if its paying them $20.00 a month, that they really can%26#039;t come after you. I see the other people are telling you not to go to court. That is certainly up to you, but if you do go to court, I would suggest that you tell the judge your financial circumstances and then tell the Judge that you are willing to begin making payments and then an amount that you can afford to pay. Once the Judge passes judgment and the amount you are willing to pay is written in the order, they credit card company cannot cause you any further problems, unless you violate the order and stop paying. I wish you luck.

My bank account has been frozen because of some debt I owe to a credit card. I have to appear in court.?

If you have not already done so you might want to consult an attorney. You are not required to go to court since it would be a Civil case, but if you do not go then know that the judgement will be put in by default and you will owe the money. Also, because you did not show up you will have not recourse in contesting the ruling.

If you do go the creditor is going to go over the debt, usually bringing up any agrements you signed, payment history and how much you currently owe. You will then need to say why you have not paid. You could also then let the court know that you are willing to pay a set amount each week. Make it the most you can really afford. If you make it so low, such as $5 dollars, the judge will just think you are not being serious.

I would bring everything you have, from initial aggrements to every check you can find for their payments. Also, bring copies of your paystub and any other bills you have. This will help in determining your other obligations if the ruling is to garnish your wages. They are allowed to garnish a good portion(I beleive it is up to 25% of your income), if you can show you have other debts that might reduce the amount they would take from you each paycheck.

If at all possible try to work it out before your court date with the creditor. Having a court date set does not mean you can not still try to negociate.

My bank account has been frozen because of some debt I owe to a credit card. I have to appear in court.?

if you%26#039;re in debt, i suggest you take a look at this site. just fill out the form and take it from there.

Would it be better for my credit score to get a home equity loan and pay off all other credit card d

I agree with above. As far as your credit score, your points goes down with the amount of open accounts you have because you have the potential to fall under hard times and max out everything without paying it off. You would not only have to consolidate everything to your home equity but send a note with all final payments that you want the accounts closed completely. Within 30 days it will begin to raise your credit score.

The inquiry into your credit for your equity loan will make your score go down 3 points and if you have more than 3 inquires a yr into credit you%26#039;re looking at 5 points per inquiry.

The interest you pay on your home equity is tax deductible and credit cards are not.

Would it be better for my credit score to get a home equity loan and pay off all other credit card debts?

Yes.

What would be best best kind of government grant to request for the purpose of paying off credit car

Smooch off the government? Don%26#039;t we have enough of that who are on welfare already? I hope you%26#039;re joking about this.

If that%26#039;s the case then no one would pay their credit card debts. Think about it.

What would be best best kind of government grant to request for the purpose of paying off credit card debts?

Grants are for doing projects ,

Never heard of any to pay CC debt .

Taxpayers would hang their congressman if they paid someone else%26#039;s CC debt with their tax money !

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

What would be best best kind of government grant to request for the purpose of paying off credit card debts?

LoL This reminds me of this commercial that comes on cable TV after hours. This guy with glasses who had way too much coffee talks about his book that has all kinds of government grants. The whole thing is funny, he wears kind of the same suit that %26quot;The Riddler%26quot; wears in Batman.

Call him lol.. you need to buy his book and then it will tell you about all kind of grants out there that us suckers are all missing out on.!!! lol

Anyone know what the name is?

EDIT:

Celeste, Thanks. Sorry you got caught in that guys scheme.

What would be best best kind of government grant to request for the purpose of paying off credit card debts?

That is one scenario that sounds too good to be true. If there were such grants your taxes would be astronomically high. Your best bet is to work hard, limit your expenses and do what the rest of us are doing, pay it yourself.

What would be best best kind of government grant to request for the purpose of paying off credit card debts?

What scares me is that you%26#039;re serious. There is no government program to pay credit card bills.

What would be best best kind of government grant to request for the purpose of paying off credit card debts?

That would be Matthew Lesko, Fahad.

I have to admit, Mr. Lesko caught me up in the whole %26quot;GET FREE GRANT MONEY%26quot; but when I actually saw the book, there was nothing there that I didn%26#039;t already know about. I knew there was grant money to be had, he just made it sound really convincing that you could get it for %26quot;anything%26quot; and that it was that easy.

The majority of grant money are funded to county, city and state agencies. Individuals can get it but they have to have a sound business plan. Even then it%26#039;s still a lengthy process.

For most of us, if you%26#039;ve ever applied/received for welfare or utility assistance, reduced lunches/textbooks...etc., whether directly or indirectly you probably received grant money.

Go to your local bookstore (Borders or Barnes %26amp; Noble..) and have a look for yourself. While it won%26#039;t show you how to receive a %26#039;blank check%26#039;, it may help you find an agency that can help if the need arises.

Advertisements can be very deceiving.

Example: Have you ever heard tv ads touting about a federal law that can eliminate your debts for only a few dollars a month? Sounds good doesn%26#039;t it?

Well, I checked into it and found out it was true!

It was called a Chpt. 13 bankruptcy!!

If you have credit card debt there are many other avenues to find help., but there is never an easy way out.

Unless you win the lottery! ; )

What would be best best kind of government grant to request for the purpose of paying off credit card debts?

unless you bleed oil or know paris hilton, your government is not in the business of helping anyone

What would be best best kind of government grant to request for the purpose of paying off credit card debts?

The government is NOT in the business of giving away free money for the sake of giving away money. There are no grants for paying bills, no grants for paying off credit cards, no grants for getting out of debt and no grants for simply fattening your wallet.

Grants are free, but it means OBLIGATION. You will be obligated to do as the grant sets out to do. Grants have objectives, and your purpose must fit the objective of the grant.

For one, you have to write the grant application and the grant application is not a simple document - you have to explain how your purpose for applying for the grant fits well with the objectives set out by the grant.

There is a stringent review process through a committee. You will compete with other applicants for the grant money, and this grant review committee will evaluate the merits of each proposal. Only those that they feel exemplifies the objective of the grant will be approved.

You can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov - these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support your purposes.

Even if you buy books on %26quot;how to get grants%26quot; or list that supposedly has information on grants -- all of them are mere rehash of what CFDA has, albeit packaged differently.

Note though that these grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments. Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT - Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program. Individuals especially for personal purposes are not eligible for federal grants.

Grants are also often given to non profit groups or organizations involved in training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women%26#039;s Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women%26#039;s business center that will train women entrepreneurs
