Credit card?
Check into getting a debit card...
Credit card companies have their rules and regulations,so you need to check them out as they do vary.
Credit card?
most cc cards do not have a yearly fee. you do not have to pay it all off every month. there is a minimum payment due at the end of the billing cycles. it just depends on what card you are getting. your safer to use your ATM/debit card. It can also be used like a credit card.
Credit card?
If possible always pay the balance on your bill. There is no need to over pay it, but paying off the balance is the best thing. If you can%26#039;t pay off the balance then at least make for then your minimum payment.
You need to do more research on what kind of card to get. There are a lot of credit cards that do NOT have yearly fees. This is some thing that is going to be different for every card, you can call the credit card company and ask them the specifics. You can google each company like Visa to get there toll free number.
Credit card?
many 1st time cards have 1 time set up fees, monthly maintenance fees, annual fees etc. But the good ones don%26#039;t. So, try at first with a card void of all these fees, you should find offers with no annual or start-up fees. always read the %26quot;disclosures%26quot; section of the offer. It usually has the look of a boxed form. In it, you will find any and all fees, rates etc. disclosed plainly. Good luck. By the way, easiest credit to get is a used car. Second, a jewelry store, (there, you could start by buying something at appx 200.00 or so.)
I disagree with ATM being safest..if you plan on doing alot of online purchasing, you%26#039;re better off using credit card than giving thief access to funds in your checking account......something I%26#039;ve always advised.
Credit card?
If you pay everything in full each month there wont be any extra charges as long as you do it before the due date. Because sometimes if you pay the day it is due there might be a finance charge because the processing on there end isn%26#039;t done on your due day.
Credit card?
Maybe instead of a credit card you should try a debit card. You can order things online with a debit card, but you never run the risk of being in debt.
But if you must have a credit card..
There%26#039;s a minimum payment you%26#039;ve got to pay each month. Mine is $15. So that means I could spend $200 but only pay off $15. You could pay off the whole thing if you wanted to, but you%26#039;ve got to pay at least the minimum amount.
You%26#039;ll get charged interest on whatever you purchase. That sucks when you buy gas or food with your card, because you no longer have these items, but you still have to pay interest on it a month later.
There%26#039;s probably an activation fee (may be called something else) but you pay it only once you get the card the first time.
Some cards don%26#039;t have annual fees, so you might get out of paying that.
Late fees are trouble. If you%26#039;re late with a payment you%26#039;ll get charged a late fee and interest.
If this is your first card, you should shop around and try to find the best deal. There%26#039;s no point in paying a ton of extra fees if you don%26#039;t have to. Look around and find what%26#039;s best for you.
Credit card?
1st of all read all of the fine print in your contract for your credit card.
When you get your bill it will give you the amount of your bill and the minimum amount due. If you can%26#039;t afford to pay the whole balance pay more then the minimum about due. Just know that the interest on the credit card varies so be careful. Using a credit card to buy things will more than likely cost you a whole lot more $$$ than saving your money and buying in cash.
As for other fees ...you there are lots of other fees...
Late fee
insurance fee
Overdraft fee
Cash advance fee

In my opinion credit cards are to be only used in REAL EMERGENCY%26#039;S!!!
a new pair of shoes, jeans, etc...is not a real emergency.
If you can buy with cash than do it.
As for buying on line do you plan to do it oftern???
if so look into either a checking account where you can get a debit card with a visa logo and you can use that..
or maybe invest in a Pay as you go credit card. Its a bit more expensive but it will help you manage your usage.
Credit card?
Definitely go for a VISA card because it is the most common one. If you pay your balance in full there are no more costs to you, if not you will pay interests for the amount you still owe. That amount might grow a lot if not paid back!!! There are some CC cards with extra benefits with an annual fee. For example for collecting air miles or shopping points, there are also different levels: a Gold card offers a lot of benefits. Go to visa.com for comparisons. One more advise - set up a banking account to pay back your balance in full automatically. That will save you headaches, stress, extra fees, writing checks, postage and moreover will create a good credit history for paying back always on time!!!

Credit card?
Do not use your debit card online. With a credit card, you are usually protected against unauthorized charges. You won%26#039;t get this with a debit card, and the out of pocket responsibility if you are responsible for the charges is much higher. If you can%26#039;t get a regular credit card, at least use a prepaid card, NEVER a debit card online.
If you pay your balance in full each month and have only used it for purchases, there shouldn%26#039;t be any additional charges. If you do not pay in full one month and the company bases interest on a %26quot;two cycle%26quot; basis, you will owe interest, even if you pay in full the following month. Only charge what you know you can and will pay EVERY month. If you take cash advances out you will owe interest even if you pay in full at the end of the month.
Read the terms and conditions very carefully. In addition to an annual fee, some banks will charge an activation fee, a set up fee, a monthly maintenance fee, and many other made up fees just to get some money. If you have a small line of credit, these fees can eat up most of it. If in doubt, ask what fees are involved. They must disclose them.
Try to stay away from annual fees, but since this is your first card, it may be hard to do if you%26#039;re not a student. If there are other fees like the ones mentioned above, run the other way. There are other more reputable companies to deal with. An annual fee may be reasonable because they need to offset their risk of taking on a customer with little credit experience. Any other fees are not reasonable and you shouldn%26#039;t deal with a company who wants to charge them.
