they are now contacting me through a different company i owe only $700.
When you are in debt to a credit card company do creditors come looking for you?
Yes they will. I would pay the debt since you legitimately owe it. But, I found when I was in trouble by being reasonable they would work with me. Never pay them at anytime more than you can afford. Don%26#039;t let them bully you if they try. I would think though you could come up with $20 a month, and they would accept that. I had one account I owed $1500 to put my account at 0% interest and required only that I make monthly payments of $20 until it was paid off.
Don%26#039;t run from it... I know it%26#039;s scary... but you can work through it.
***your credit is not forever damaged... if you work with them, they might even take it off your credit report. You have to ask them to do this. Look up Dave Ramsey and read the book total money makeover. For someone who has credit problems this is one of the best books ever written on this subject.
I had many problems starting four years ago. My credit is now fair... hopefully by next year it will be good. I don%26#039;t borrow money anymore. If a company doesn%26#039;t want to hire me because of my credit report... it probably means we wouldn%26#039;t have been a good fit. That%26#039;s the only reason why I am slightly concerned with my score. As long as no one has stolen my identity. But with bad credit... stealing my identity would have been a waste of their time.
When you are in debt to a credit card company do creditors come looking for you?
They don%26#039;t find you but they do track you down if they need to i worked for collections and if you apply for anything in your name they can get that information so if there is somthing you don%26#039;t want them to know keep it to yourself. Some creditors can be nice and helpful which also goes for collectors but some are ruthless now if you can pay it back just do it asap because it%26#039;s more of a hassle on yourself dealing with people who want you money
When you are in debt to a credit card company do creditors come looking for you?
YES,But they don%26#039;t have to look for you, they know
exactly where you are!! Talk to them,or your
situation will only get worse..
When you are in debt to a credit card company do creditors come looking for you?
If you are asking if the companies that you made the purchases from will come after you, the answer is no. Those companies have already been paid for your purchases by your Credit Card holder. If you made a major purchase, well over the $ 700.00 arena, it may be a bit different.
It is more than likely a debt collection company that is calling for you. They are contracted by the Credit Card Company to try to collect the money for them.
Trust me and anyone else who has experienced credit and all of the difficulties that come with it...Pay them!
If you explain that you will pay and make an arrangement with them or the debt collector, they will all work with you. It is much easier for them to work with you over $700.00 than it is to try to sue you for it and it is much less expensive for them as well. (Court costs and legal fees are extremely high)
You are only making the matter worse if you dodge them or ignore them. It is frightening but it is your obligation to pay. Just face it, make the arrangement with them to pay what you can and then keep your word and do what you promised. All they want is for you to make the arrangements to pay.
Your credit is something that follows you for your entire life. It takes a minimum of 7 years for your credit to be repaired if you have a major problem. Even then it is still a little chancey and not worth the worry. If you are young in all likelihood, you will be fine %26quot;if%26quot; you pay them. The old saying better late than never is very true.
They are only doing thier jobs by calling. They will work with you if you face it and try. Be safe, good luck.
