Old credit card debts?

My husband owes a credit card from 15 years ago and now that we own a home, it seems like everyone he ever owed money to is contacting us for payment. We just got notice that he still owes on one for $600.00 and if we don%26#039;t pay it, then they will start charging interest on the balance. Can they do that %26amp; why hasn%26#039;t it shown up on his credit report?

Old credit card debts?

no, but they will sure try. 15 years is way past the

Statue of Limitations.

get everything in writing and do not talk to them on

Old credit card debts?

Tell the creditors not to call you. At all. Ever. Say sue me.

15 YEARS ago is wayyyyy past the statue of limitations write, write.write do not make any calls also you can down load forms for debt validations on the computer.

You probably don%26#039;t owe on it. You need to see what the statute on limitations is in your state. It probably did show up at one time on the report. Check this website out, but you need to see what the state law is as well. One of the sites below has that info. There are a few states that do have 15 years from the date of the last payment.

They are trying to scare him. They cannot sue and it does not show up on his credit report.

They can charge interest for the next 100 years if they want to. It has no consequence.
